If you stand on the Eisenberg and gaze off into the distance, in addition to next-door neighbor Hungary you can also see clear across the Steiermark to Slovenia. It is the passion for the distinctive and remarkable terroir of the Eisenberg in Südburgenland that drives Matthias Krön and Markus Bach. On this extraordinary hillside with its old grapevines growing in steeply sloped vineyard sites, unique wines are created. The grapes for this red wine come from the Eisenberg and the Königsberg. The slate soils of the former site bring spice to the blend, while the clay of the latter gives the wine its luxuriant richness. Together the two complementary vineyards add up to impressive, refreshing and charming drinkability. Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot make for a marriage of thrilling complexity.
